The Union Government has officially notified the new South Coast Railway (SCoR) Zone with headquarters at Visakhapatnam, fulfilling a long-pending demand of Andhra Pradesh. The new railway zone is expected to begin operations from June 1, 2026.

Key Divisions Under South Coast Railway

The new railway zone will include:

Vijayawada Division, Guntur Division ,Guntakal Division and Newly reorganized Visakhapatnam Division

These divisions were reorganized from the existing South Central Railway and East Coast Railway zones.
