A
stunning knock from 15-year-old sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi lit up the TATA
IPL as Rajasthan Royals crushed Sunrisers Hyderabad by 47 runs in the
Eliminator at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium to book
their place in Qualifier 2.
The
teenage prodigy produced one of the most explosive innings in IPL history,
blasting an incredible 97 runs off just 29 balls at a strike rate of 334.48.
His breathtaking innings included five fours and 12 towering sixes, leaving
fans and experts in disbelief. In the process, he also broke a long-standing
milestone previously held by Chris Gayle.
After
being asked to bat first by SRH skipper Pat Cummins, Rajasthan Royals launched
a relentless attack from the opening over. Sooryavanshi dominated the SRH
bowlers with fearless strokeplay, helping RR pile up a massive total of 243
runs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad never truly recovered in the chase and kept losing wickets while trying to keep up with the required rate. Rajasthan Royals maintained control throughout the innings before wrapping up a memorable victory. Fittingly, it was Sooryavanshi himself who completed the win by taking the final catch, sealing a famous night for the youngster and his franchise.
With
this commanding victory, Rajasthan Royals now move on to face Gujarat Titans in
Qualifier 2 for a place in the IPL final.
Defending
champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru booked their place in the IPL 2026 final
with a massive 92-run victory over Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1 at Dharamshala
played on 26-5-2026.
