In a thrilling group stage encounter of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in Colombo, India defeated Pakistan by a convincing margin of 61 runs to secure their place in the Super Eight stage of the tournament.  After winning the toss, India posted a Good total of 175 for 7 in their 20 overs. Opener Ishan Kishan scored 77 off just 40 balls. Key contributions also came from Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube as they built vital partnerships in the middle overs.  India bundled Pakistan out for 114 in 18 overs, with notable wicket-taking spells from Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel. Usman Khan was the top scorer for Pakistan with 44 runs.

 With this win, India finished atop Group A and booked their place in the Super Eights with confidence
