KANIPAKAM TEMPLE

The sacred Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy Temple, popularly known as Kanipakam Temple, is one of the most revered Lord Ganesha temples in South India. Located near Chittoor town and about 70 km from Tirupati, the temple attracts lakhs of devotees every year seeking blessings for success, justice, and prosperity.

According to temple legends, the idol of Lord Ganesha is Swayambhu (self-manifested) and was discovered centuries ago by three farmers. While digging a well for irrigation, they struck a stone from which blood began to flow, and water filled the well instantly. The divine idol emerged from this sacred water source.

The idol of Lord Vinayaka remains partially submerged in water inside a well even today. Devotees believe the idol is gradually increasing in size over time.

The temple is famous for resolving disputes — people take oaths before the deity believing truth prevails. Continuous water flow in the sanctum is considered sacred and miraculous.

The temple celebrates Vinayaka Chavithi Brahmotsavams with great devotion. The annual festival lasts for several days.

Devotees strongly believe that prayers offered at Kanipakam remove obstacles, bring harmony in family matters, and fulfill wishes. Many visitors perform special vows and offer coconuts and modakams to Lord Ganesha.

Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy Temple at Kanipakam stands as a powerful symbol of faith and devotion. With its miraculous origin, historical significance, and spiritual importance, the temple continues to attract devotees from across India throughout the year.
