  The Brihadeeswarar Temple, also known as the Big Temple, stands as a magnificent symbol of India’s rich cultural and architectural heritage. Located in Thanjavur, this historic temple continues to attract devotees, historians, and tourists from across the world. Built in 1010 AD by the great Chola king Raja Raja Chola I, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The most striking feature of the temple is its towering Vimana (temple tower), which rises to about 216 feet, making it one of the tallest temple structures in India. Constructed entirely of granite, the temple reflects the advanced engineering skills of the Chola dynasty.
